Dear TABB Families,
I hope this message finds everyone well and enjoying their off-season! It is hard to believe that we have registration for our 2023 spring season upon us. Be sure to register starting this Friday, October 14 to ensure you lock in your early bird discount!
For those of you who do not know me, my name is James MacLeod and I will be our TABB President for the 2023 season. The entire board is very excited for the upcoming season!
I am reaching out today to provide an update on something that changed just this past week. The Pony International Board of Directors voted yesterday to change the “Age of Determination” for registration for the upcoming 2023 season and beyond. For the past five years, the age of determination date had been August 31. PONY has made the decision to roll back that date to April 30. For those of you who have been around PONY baseball for a while, you will recall that April 30 had previously been the age of determination and PONY is simply returning to that previous standard. Therefore, for clarity, the new “Age of Determination” for TABB for the 2023 Season and beyond will be APRIL 30. What does this mean for you and your TABB ballplayer?
If you played in TABB last year and your birthday falls in May, June, July or August, you will have the option to stay with your current division/age group or stay back for an additional season in your previous division. This OPTION will only be available for the 2023 season. We will comply fully with PONY protocols for the 2024 season and beyond.
We appreciate that this may be a little confusing, so please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or any member of the board with any questions you may have. When you login to register this Friday, or any time after, you will be prompted to register for the division within the new age of determination. If your ball player is one of those affected (May, June, July or August birthdays) by the new age of determination and they would like to stay up with their current division, please let us know and we will manually make the change.
